Rosie (born 2013) had all appearance of a chestnut brown alpaca with a white face as a cria. the classic markings of a Rose grey alpaca as a cria. No sign of grey. With grey or rose grey these animals first shearing (at around 12 months old) is often a revelation – with Rosie it certainly was. Not a rose grey, but spots all over! She is an appaloosa, although possibly she is still a rose grey with spots caused by a white patterning gene!. She has gone more grey since then, but is still noticeable for her light spots on a brown background. Her dam is Chantelle and her sire Bingo.
