Marietta (born 2012) is a suri alpaca. She was originally described as lively (or was it feisty!) , in any case she was quite hard to handle and would not allow herself to be mated. Since arriving with us in summer 2017 she has become very friendly and is now one of the ones that stands closest to you in the barn and field, sometimes even lying on your feet! I think is is probably as she want to be mated, but it’s nicer to think it’s because she likes me! She has never been able to get pregnant. Marietta is a large suri, rather over enthusiastic and very hairy. Her nickname is Hagrid, totally understandable as she runs across the field to greet you!
