Claudia (born 2014) is a true black (it’s really hard to get a good photo of a very black alpaca!). Although her sire was black, she was a real shock to us, as mum Ellie and grandma Chloe are white and I expected only light coloured cria from her. Claudia has fabulous fibre and came 4th in her class in the National Alpaca Fibre Show with her cria fleece. I don’t know if alpacas can have depression, but if they can then I think Claudia does! She always looks miserable, slightly droopy stance, ears down etc etc. She is very quiet, and easy to handle. I hope she is happier than she looks!
